Don’t know how to get started on Pinterest. Does the thought of having to learn how to use Pinterest seem daunting. This Pinterest checklist will have you navigating the platform like a pro. Get ready to learn how to use Pinterest for Business in a detailed quick and easy 42 step checklist.
Pinterest is not as scary as it seems. It’s actually extremely easy to use and surprisingly beneficial in driving traffic to your website. Unlike other platforms, it’s the one social media platform where you can actually dump content. Up until recently, Pinterest was not so social. Earlier this year, they added Pinterest Communities. Communities opened up Pinterest to the social aspects of its partner platforms.

A Pinterest Checklist will help you discover how to use the platform correctly. Likewise, increase traffic to your site. And, did you know that buyers are more likely to buy directly through a pin. On average, pinners have an average buying value of almost $4.00 more than Facebook. Take a look at these stats, according to Hootsuite:

Let’s start Pinning with the Pinterest Checklist Guide:
First, set up your Profile.
- First, start with a branded, clear, headshot or logo for your profile pic.
- Next, add niche-relevant keywords to your Business Name.
- Then, add niche-relevant keywords to your Pinterest bio.
- Add a call-to-action and URL in your bio.
- Add and verify your website.
Second, create and organize boards.
- First, create a minimum of 10 boards with 50+ pins on each.
- Then label all boards appropriately.
- Use niche-relevant keywords in board names and descriptions.
- Create branded board covers.
- Create one board to feature only your own content.
- Move your best and most popular boards to the top of your profile.
Next, create pins.
- Design 4 or more templates for your original pins.
- Next, create pins that are vertical with a 736 X 2748 pixels or 2:3 width-to-height ratio.
- Make sure that your pin’s text is large and legible specifically for smartphones.
- Include niche-relevant keywords in your pin descriptions.
- Only re-pin pins that link to relevant, high-quality content.
- Create up to 4 different pins for the same blog post.
Next set up your Blog.
- Install a Pin It button using Social Warfare or other plugins on your website. for your blog images.
- Add a Pinterest Share button to your website. (social warfare will do this too!)
- Install a Pinterest Follow button or pop up using Milo Tree
- Include at least one pinnable image in every blog post.
- Embed a Pinterest board in a blog post or on your website in sidebars or footers.
Lastly set up your Pinterest strategy to build your account.
- Convert to a Pinterest Business account here.
- Enable Rich Pins for your website.
- Join relevant group boards
- Use a scheduling tool like Tailwind SmartLoop to pin several pins per day to aid in your daily pinning strategy.
- Re-pin your own pins daily
- Install a Pin It button using Social Warfare or other plugins on your website.
- Create a secret board for you to draw inspirations from.
- Hide all other boards that are not directly related to your business and niche.
- Bring your own content back to the top of your boards.
- Do a monthly Pinterest audit to see what was pinned most and what was not.
- Set regular goals and track your performance.
- Join more than three relevant Pinterest Communities in your niche
- Contribute weekly to Pinterest Communities discussions by posting, liking, or commenting on others conversations
Finally, engage with followers.
- Follow and connect with other pinners in your industry and niche.
- Comment on other people’s pins.
- Thank others who pin your content and pin some of their
- Promote your Pinterest account on other social media platforms.
- Join 5-10 Tailwind Tribes.
- When possible, tag the content creator in your pin descriptions.
- Create your own group board and invite your others in similar industries to join
- Create various Smart Loops on Tailwind to post either seasonally or continuously.
